The Association is calling for applications from young people aged between 21-28 years interested in applying for the 2025 Edgar Hudgins Memorial Scholarship.
The successful applicant will receive a return air fare from their nearest airport to Houston, Texas and the Association will make arrangements for the person to be placed with members of the American Brahman Breeders’ Association. The successful applicant will gain experience in the activities conducted on the Brahman ranches of the host family and live in the normal family environment.

The scholarship will run under the following guidelines:
- Applicants be 21 (at time of travel) – 28 years of age.
- Applicants be able to demonstrate a connection with the Australian Brahman breed.
- Applicants must be free to travel during the year the scholarship is awarded (or by 30TH June 2024).
- Applicants are asked to (1) complete the reply form below; (2) state briefly on a separate sheet the reasons for wanting to win the scholarship together with a resume of their qualifications and experience and (3) provide written references.
- Final selection of the successful applicant will be made by an independent panel appointed by the ABBA Executive Committee following personal interviews.
- The scholarship will be restricted to return air fares from the applicants closest airport to Houston, Texas and return.
- ABBA shall make arrangements through the American Brahman Breeders’ Association for placement with families in America who are members of AMBBA, who will provide laundry and meals. Applicants may need to provide some funds.
- The scholarship shall be of 12 weeks duration.
- Extensions of time in America shall not be permitted without approval from the ABBA.
- Applications close on the 14th March, 2025.
